The distance to Alanya is 25 kilometres (16 mi) and to Antalya is 105 kilometres (65 mi). The population of Avsallar was 9527 [1] as of 2012. History Avsallar was probably founded by a Turkmen tribe of Afshar from Kençek Señir ( a historical settlement in Talas Province of Kyrgyzstan) in the 15th century. (The name Avsallar may be a corrupy form of Afshar) The earlier settlement was to the north of the present Avsallar. In 1843 following a fire, the people moved to present location. In 1986 Avsallar was declared a seat of township.
