The costume fully explainsthe Order to which the Dervish belongs, and the Kidahor cap, and the Khirka or mantle, as well as the Keweror girdle, are the principal parts which designate the Bektdshees, an arm is left out of the sleeveon certain occasions, signifying, I come to you in pureamity, and without any desire to seek PENITENCE. Of the Kddirees, the cap is called Tdj or crown, andthe belt, Kef?ier. These may be of any colour ; green is,however, mostly used. The cap is also called their devotions, after reciting the Fdtiha, the Dervishestake each other by the shoulder, and turn round in thehall of the Tekkie/i, calhng out, Ifay Allah! This THE DERVISHES. AllDervishes say grace at their meals, called the Gul beiik^which differs in different Orders. That of the Kddirees isthe following prayer :— Praise be to God.
