Aberystwyth, Wales, UK. 23rd December, 2015. In a short gap in the wet and windy weather before Storm Eva is forecast to hit the coast on Friday morning, a huge flock of starlings perform spectacular displays in the air above Aberystwyth as the sun sets over Cardigan Bay in west Wales Each evening between October and March tens of thousands of the birds fly in huge ‘murmurations; in the sky above the town before settling to roost for the night on the cast iron legs of the Victorian seaside pier.
