Countryside images close to this public artwork taking the form of a wind blown tree which is made of steel pipes and it is situated high on the Moors above Burnley in Lancashire. It is called the Singing Ringing Tree", a sculpture by Award Winning Architects Tonkin Lui,and it is a unique modern, 21st Century musical sculpture and stands over 20 feet tall. When the wind blows across the pipes it makes a musical sound which can be quite eerie at times. It is part of a series of what are called Panopticons, which are artworks scattered across east Lancashire. Situated on the hilltops at Crown Point, overlooking Burnley, from it's commanding and imposing position it also overlooks Pendle Hill the Bowland Fells and over into Yorkshire and the Pennine Hills. Close to it are the twenty-four wind turbines at Coal Clough Wind Farm, Cliviger. Tourists walk the rugged path to stand beneath them and view the moors and valleys of Pennine Lancashire
