CDMS Architects have been commissioned to design a new build timber clad 'eco-house' in an 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty' on the Dorset/Devon border near Lyme Regis. The plot is a sloping forest of fir trees and established landscape with a stream at the foot of the 1 acre site. An existing 1960s concrete bungalow was demolished and replaced by a timber framed, oak clad, zinc roofed, structure with renewable energy design, incorporating an air source heat pump, solar thermal panels, triple glazed windows, a whole house ventilation system; there is also an annex building and corner window facing an enormous magnolia tree.
