A pair of silver-mounted flintlock pistols, Cassaignard, Nantes, circa 1780. Round brass barrels, sectioned by balusters, smooth bore in 14 mm calibre with cannon muzzles and floral engraving on the chambers. Lightly engraved flintlocks, each signed "Cassaignard à Nantes" on the brass lockplates. Carved walnut stocks with stamped silver furniture bearing floral ornamentation in relief. Later wooden ramrods with brass tips. Length of each 33 cm. Cassaignard, Nantes ca. 1774 - 1812.
