Upon the exam-ination of the injured limb, the fractured extremities of the femur werefound to be united, with great angular deformity, by irregular arches ofcallus. A fragment of the ball was enclosed between the arches. Thespecimen was contributed by Assistant Surgeon C. C. Byrne, U.
