Climate and soil excellent for all products. About a mile and a half away, in the Saddle River Valley, is the summer home of Joseph Jefferson, the actor. It comprises a model farm of 52 y acres, in which he has a trout pond, and almost on the bank of the Saddle river is his quaintly picturesque old stone house of many spires and gables. Hohokus has a population of 600, a good public school, a Catholic and a Methodist church. Allendale, N.
