Teapot 1730–35 Vienna Du Paquier potters clearly were familiar with Chinese teawares, as they imitated and adapted their forms. Here, both the four-cornered shape and the arched sections of the foot were copied from Chinese models. The brown ground, also Chinese in origin, is a rare example of the use of a ground color at Du Paquier; inside the cartouches are chinoiserie scenes in the Meissen style of Johann Gregorious Höroldt (1696–1775)..
