Vending machine between two stone lanterns at the Kasuga Shrine, Nara, Japan


The Kasuga Shrine (Kasuga-taisha) is a Shinto shrine in the city of Nara, Established in 768 and rebuilt several times over the centuries, it is the shrine of the Fujiwara family. The interior is famous for its many bronze lanterns, as well as the many thousands of stone lanterns that lead up the shrine through Deer park. The path to Kasuga Shrine passes through Nara Park and over a thousand stone lanterns line the way.
