The major was much im- pressed with the magnificent hotel, which he states was more than could possibly be expected; with the' beautiful flowers with which the place has been made attractive, and the magnificent fruit to be seen on all sides. The banner lemons especially attracted his at- tention, which he claims are larger than a grapefruit, juicy, and of splendid flavor and perfect in shape. The citrus department of this colony, which comprises thousands of acres, is under the able management of Mr. W. C.
