The discussion on this paper showed a general opinionin favor of some form of tubulous boiler. Admitting thenecessity of greater care and watchfulness and of frequentcleaning, it was still considered that the demand for higherpressures could be met by this class of boiler, and that theadvantages in the diminished space and weight were un-doubted.
