Public protest notices appearing on farmland against the use of a poison known as 1080 being used to cull possums and stoats in the local rain forest on the west coast of South Island in New Zealand. The protesters fear that the poison pellets will spread into the local environment such as local creeks and rivers and also eaten by domestic pets in particular, dogs.
