SIMPI,i: COl l»LKR : RIGGING 1 be rciuphr release rigging shown herewith was designed toeliminate as many parts as possible and to facilitate the appli-cation of the device to the eye of the coupler lock and the endof the car. It is known as the Singlelink release rigging, fromthe fact that but one piece is used between the uncoupling leverand the eye of the coupler lock. The upper end of the link ismade with an elongated eye, which provides for all motion ofthe coupler relative to the end sill, and the lower end is pro-virled with an open eye. The uncoupling lever is secured to the end sill of the car bymeans of open brackets which are closed by cotter pins. Inapplying the rigging to the car the lower end of the link is. Cauplcr Rigging Having Few Parts first hooked into the eye of the coupler lock: the lever beingthen placed in the brackets and secured by the cotters. Thelever connection to the link is provided with a tail which servesto prevent the link from turning and sliding out of place. Itwas also stated that the Seaboard Air Line strongly favoredthe table grate on account of its large air opening. The illustra
