Line of semi circular archways cover ground floor outdoor corridor with balcony above partially obscuring second story line of windows and doors. Sloping concrete roof above and small red tiled turret. Grassy courtyard in foreground. Moravian Pottery and Tile Works is a unique poured concrete building designed and built by Henry Mercer during the Art and Crafts movement. It reflects the Spanish influence on mission architecture and was completed in 1912. It produced hand made tiles and mosaics for floors, walls and ceilings. Now a National Historic Landmark it is maintained as a working "working history" museum still producing a few limited decorative ceramic tiles.
