They were met by the city officials andconducted to the shipyard in carriages with military escort. The streets werecrowded and fully ten thousand persons were present at the launching. The Moyamensing Hook & Ladder Company was instituted April 7, 1868,and incorporated February 28, 1870. Its first truck and hose carriage was pre-sented to it by the Moyamensing Company of The Franklin Fire Company, Xo. 1, was instituted Xovember 30, 1867, andincorporated February 22, 1869.
