Emanuel Millikin and his four sons from one of the southern counties of Scot-land, probably Ayrshire or Dumfrieshire, went with William of Orange assoldiers into Ireland, and fought at the Battle of Boyne, July 12, 1690. In con-sideration of their noble service they received a grant of land in the Parish ofKillenumery, County Leitrim, with homestead at Drumduff, three miles westof Drumnahare, near the county of Sligo line, and some ten miles from the city ofthat name from whence so many families of the Millikins have sailed for Amer-ica.
