Visby station opened open in 1878 by Gotland railways, GJ. Then the two -storey station house was built in stone. New magazine was built in 1912. Rälsbussgararage with four gates was built in 1945. Gj was nationalized in 1947. The public traffic was closed down in 1960. Individual freight traffic under the auspices of Visby Andelslakti was conducted on the section Slaktriet-Visby harbor until May 1962.
