Malbork Castle (Also known as Marienburg, and was the main seat of the Teutonic Knights), Malbork, Pomerania, Poland.


View of the Zamek Wysoki (High Castle) seen over battlements. Built by the Teutonic Knights, it was commenced circa 1276 and is reputedly Europe's largest Gothic castle. When it became the main seat of the order in 1309 it was expanded considerably and spread over 21 hectares making it the largest fortress built in the Middle Ages.
