Fourteenth. A royalty of ten per cent, on the goldmined shall be levied and collected by the officers to beappointed for the purpose, provided the amount somined and taken from a single claim does not exceedfive hundred dollars per week. In case the amountmined and taken from any single claim exceeds fivehundred dollars per week, there shall be levied andcollected a royalty of ten per cent, upon the amountso taken out up to five hundred dollars, and upon theexcess, or amount taken from any single claim over fivehundred dollars per week, there shall be levied and col-. FALSE STATEMENTS. 199 lected a royalty of twenty per cent, such royalty to formpart of the consolidated Revenue, and to be accountedfor by the officers who collect the same in due time and manner in which such royalty shall be col-lected, and the person who shall collect the same, shallbe provided for by regulations to be made by the GoldCommissioner.
