Mary Elizabeth Truss (born 26 July 1975) is a British politician who has served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom since 6 September 2022. On 20 October, after 45 days in office, she announced her resignation as leader of the Conservative Party and her intention to tender her resignation as prime minister after a successor as party leader has been chosen.[1][2][failed verification] She previously held Cabinet positions under Prime Ministers David Cameron, Theresa May and Boris Johnson, including serving as foreign secretary from 2021 to 2022.
