The Englifh name has been given to this Moth by fome collectors,on account of its being found a local fpecies, and raoft frequent inRichmond park. The Larva of this Infeft has a very Angular appearance, to whichthe hook on the back greatly contributes when it is nearly full fedand going into the pupa ftate. It feeds on the Jafmine and Lilac,and does not thrive well on any other plants. It is in the CaterpillarHate in April, changes to chryfalis in May : the Fly comes forth inJune. PLATE *7-.
