This uniform speedis obtained by series paralleling the fields, as shown in diagramof connections on page 283. THROUGH ELECTRIC SERVICE BETWEEN NEW YORK ANDPHILADELPHIA The through electric service between New York and Phil-adelphia has proved so popular that on Aug. 4 the Public Ser-vice Corporation, the Trenton & New Brunswick Railroad Com-pany and the Camden & Trenton Railroad Company, whichtogether operate the service, announced the establishment ofan hourly headway of cars between New York and Trenton,and a forty-two-minute headway between Trenton and Cam-den. A change of cars is necessary at Trenton, as the gageof the track between Jersey City and Trenton is 4 ft.
