'ImM The floral exhibits at the fair, while not large, are of good quality and are excit- ing considerable interest. The local trade is missing a good opportunity to get valuable publicity by not making more elaborate exhibits at the fair. Floyd Bralliar expresses himself much pleased with tests of some of the new cannas. Mohawk is by all odds the best bronze-leaved canna yet seen. The flowers are fully as largo as Tlie Presi- dent and are even a more brilliant red, while the foliage is equal to King Hum- bert. After two years' experience with this canna, he is convinced that it is a free bloomer and is superior in every way to King Huml)prt. As soon as it becomes cheap it is bound to be popular, he thinks. Sunset is a desirable variety, that would prol)ably pass as a white, although in reality is a pale pink. The flowers are of largest size and iire pro- duced freely, while, as yet, the foliage has shown no weakness. Although it does not come up to that best of white cannas, Snow Queen, it is more beautiful at close range and gives a better effect at a distance than Eureka.
