LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Army Col. Joseph D. Clark, commander, 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment waves to the crowd in Los Angeles County Veteran's Home Inaugural Veteran's Day Parade, commemorating those who have served in our nation's defense in past and present-day conflicts throughout the world. Veteran’s Day originated as “Armistice Day” in 1919, and celebrates the men and women who have served in this country’s armed forces throughout past and present conflicts, it became a national holiday in 1938.
