Private Gibbon of the Signal Corps captured this photograph on September 28, 1918. It shows the Church of Gercourt, which was enclosed by barbed wire and used by the Germans as a prison. The town of Gercourt in Meuse, France, was later captured by the 319th Regiment of the 80th Division. The image was approved by the American Expeditionary Forces censor and was issued the identification number 6094.
