The work of equipping the passenger loco-motives and coaches on the Staten Island Lines. All this work isbeing done at the Clifton shops, under thesupervision of the master mechanic, W. All the Forney type locomotives, four-teen in number, have been equipped. Theselocomotives are used in local passenger serviceon the Rapid Transit Division. Ten Americaneight-wheel passenger locomotives have alsobeen equipped. These locomotives are usedon the Railway Division running from Terminal to Tottenville, a distance ofnearly fifteen miles. Up to date sixty-twocoaches have been equipped, leaving thirty-twomore to do. When these are completed all thepassenger equipment will have electric lightinstallation, which will be a great improve-ment to the Staten Island Lines, and one mostpleasing to the general public.
