Heads of Medusa, Temple of Apollo, Didim, Turkey

The well preserved ruins of the Temple of Apollo at Didim in Turkey. These represent possibly the best preserved temple of its type in the Aegean. Still standing until the 15th century when an earthquake destroyed many of the columns. A fascinating site well worth an extended visit. These heads of medusa are located just inside the entrance to the temple site and are from a frieze that ran around the top of the temple.
