SPATHIPHYLLUM

Spathiphyllum. Jardin des plantes of Rouen, France. Among the spathiphyllums, what is generally considered as a flower is in reality an inflorescence (gathering of flowers). The flowers, very small, are placed on an spike called spadix surrounded of a bract (modified leaf) named spathe. Here, the spathe is white and green ; the spadice is green.
