'Ghali Shoyan' Carpet Washing Ceremony In Iran
Iranians Shiites gather during the ancient ceremony 'Ghali Shoyan' aka Ghali Shuyan or Carpet Washing, a symbolic demonstration of the burial of Prophet Sultan Ali bin Imam Muhammad Baqer (AS) among Muslims. At this ceremony, the people, each holding a stick, gather in Ardahl's mosque and clean and wash the rug. And after several turns around the mosque and mourning the ceremony will be finish.
