Plastic surgery simulator. Dr Steven Pieper demonstrating the Computer Aided Plastic Surgery (CAPS) simulator. This uses a three-dimensional scan of the patient's face. The surgeon indicates where the incisions will be placed, and the program calculates how the skin will fit together after healing. The surgeon may try several alternatives before deciding on the final procedure. Pieper designed and developed this system at Dartmouth University, USA.
