Treasure Island Hotel and Casino opened in October 1993 at a cost of $450 million. The resort's original 'pirate' theme has been diminished, although 'pirates' still battle nightly in Sirens Cove in front of the hotel (as seen in the LCD screen in the shot). Cirque du Soleil's Mystere Show has been a permanent show at the resort since December 1993.
