He was for some j^ears the president of the popular Woodmont Rodand Gun Club, whose object is the enjoyment of the sports of fishing and hunt-ing, the propagation and preservation of fish and game, and enforcement of properlaws for the protection of game and fish. R. Edson estab-lished themselves in this city in 1866,devoting their energy at once to the studyof the intricate patent-laws and the soli-citing of patents. The Messrs. Edsonhave practiced before the Patent Officesince 1866, and before the bar of theSupreme Court of the District of Colum-bia since 1868, and are now practitionersbefore the Supreme Court of the UnitedStates. They have solicited some of themost difficult patents successfully, a large number of rejected cases having beenrevived and finally allowed through theirefforts.
