Heroes Square is noted for its iconic statue complex featuring the Seven chieftains of the Magyars and other important Hungarian leaders,


Laid out in 1896 to mark the thousandth anniversary of Hungary, Heroes' Square is the biggest and most popular square of the city. Located at the end of Andrássy utca and next to City Park, Heroes’ Square is one of the most visited sights in Budapest. Next to square there are two important buildings, Museum of Fine Arts on the left and Modern Art Hall on the right. Around the base of the monument are a number of mounted statues honoring King Arpad and the seven headsman of the Hungarian tribe, who established their people in the area now known as Hungary. Statues of kings and other important liberation leaders and chancellors of the Hungary stand on top of the colonnades on either side of the center the middle of square, you'll see the Millennial Column, standing 32-meter-tall with the double life-size figure of Gabriel Archangel standing on the top. Directly in front of the column is the Monument of National Heroes that a tribute to Hungary's nameless heroes of war.
