This story sank into young Byrons mind,and is re-told by him in Don Juan, Canto II. The Dulwich Club. No history of Dulwich is complete without areference to this Society, and a description of asocial club of the 18th century will be interestingto readers generally. There appears to have beenan earlier society, known as the Quarterly Meeting,but the Dulwich Club, as we know it, held its firstmeeting on 26th March, 1791, and was in full swingin 1792,
