Augustenborg Palace Augustenborg Als Denmak Augustenborg from 1664 was original built in halt timbered style then during the 18th century re built in baroque style and is today the biggest of it s kind in this part of the country The palace was the resident for the Duke of Augustenborg who played a decisive role in the anti Danish and German inspired Schlesvig Holstein rising in 1848 After the defeat of the insurgents the Duke had March 26 to leave the palace in great haste He moved to the palace Primgenau in Schlesien and the Danish state took over Augsutenborg Palace which now service as a hospital
