Adama, a refugee from Ivory Coast, poses showing his blind eye during an interview at CEAR Refugio in Barcelona. A young man is gay and his Ivorian family does not accept him. At the age of 18, his uncle found him having sex with another man in his house, took his belt out of his trousers and started beating him, eventually sticking the belt buckle in his eye, leaving him blind forever. Adama fled to Morocco where he lived and worked for over a year until one day a friend of his informed him that his uncle was in Casa Blanca looking for him with a passport photo to kill him for being gay.
