Chateau d’Eau
The view taken in 1828, shows the Chateau d’Eau. The Place du Palais Royal was enlarged by the Regent, Duc d’Orleans. He erected this building to a design by Robert de Cotte. Four Doric columns with a pediment bearing the Arms of France can be seen. Two statues by Coustou, the Seine and the Nymph of the Fountain of Arcueil are to be found here. This became a public fountain. The image was drawn by J Nash under the direction of A Pugin and engraved by Tingle
