171004-N-ZN152-0020 SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (Oct. 4, 2017) - Religious Program Specialist 3rd Class Jose Reyesbermudez, a Puerto Rican native embarked aboard the Military Sealift Command hospital ship USNS Comfort (T-AH 20), is reunited with his mother when the ship moored in San Juan, Puerto Rico to support humanitarian relief efforts. The Department of Defense is supporting the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the lead federal agency, in helping those affected by Hurricane Maria to minimize suffering and is one component of the overall whole-of-government response effort.
