The Yellow-legged Gull is now considered a different species from the Herring Gull of northern Europe. It is widespread in the Mediterranean area. This photograph was taken on Giannutri, an island belonging to the Tuscan Archipelago. Here there is a healthy and thriving Yellow-legged Gull colony
