WWI. Kostanjevica (SLO). At the bottom of the 'Dolina Lombardia', at the entrance of a gallery, there is an interesting latin inscription that says that the place was fortified by Commander Catalano's troops, in 1917 : “Arma ferente cimbro regis hic primae legionis cohors II Duce Catalano valla construit hiemalia castra tenuit MCMXVII”.
