The Glass Cage social experiment about the social isolation issue in Sofia, Bulgaria, Eastern Europe, Balkans, EU

The Glass Cage social experiment () is about the social isolation issue in the modern days. Ultramarathon runner Krasimir Georgiev takes on this challenge to be self-isolated in a glass cage for 15 days. The cage is positioned in front of the National Palace of Culture in the very heart of the Bulgarian capital. It is a completely transparent container equipped only with a jogging machine and a bed. The experiment will collect reliable data on the impact of social isolation on people’s health and the damage caused by the lack of interpersonal communication. This data will be used to create a programme aimed at reducing social isolation, easing the burden of digital technology on young people and preventing various addictions. For the purpose, a fundraising campaign will also take place. The experiment is set to be completed on 15th of May.
