Colourful fireworks burst in the sky above the waters of English Bay in Vancouver in the annual Honda Celebration of Light fireworks competition. On this first evening of the competition, the spectacular show was by the Akariya Fireworks team from Japan. The annual fireworks competition attracts thousands of spectators each year. This year's competitors were teams from Japan, the United Kingdom, and Canada. The winner was the team from Japan.
