MAYPORT, Fla. (March 24, 2017) – Retired Cmdr. Henry Dronzeck (left) and retired Capt. John Meserve (right) look at the names of former Sailors and Marines who lost their lives during the Battle of Iwo Jima while touring the Suribachi Room aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7). Dronzeck served as the ship's secretary and ship handler of USS Iwo Jima (LPH-2) from 1963-1966 while Meserve served as the executive officer for Iwo Jima from 1984-1987.
