Spanish Court garden, Longue Vue House & Gardens, New Orleans, Louisiana, USA

Spanish Court The Spanish Court was designed by William Platt and Edith Stern in 1965 after Hurricane Betsy destroyed the original Camellia Allée designed by Ellen Biddle Shipman. It was inspired by the 14th century Generalife Gardens at the Alhambra in Grenada, Spain and finished in 1969. Fountains and intricate mosaic sidewalks contribute to the Moorish flavor of this formal garden.
