On Fri-day the regiment went through themill, a performance required of allorganizations before sailing for the equipment of the enlisted menwas turned in, each man was given abath and a medical inspection, andwas then issued a complete new out-fit. The officers likewise had to ap-pear before the medical next afternoon an inspector exam-ined the equipment to make sure thatnothing was lacking. Meanwhile thepassenger lists, fourteen copies, hadbeen typed, and the regiment wasready to sail. Now began a new series of unex-pected delays, while the regimentawaited sailing orders.
