At the presenttime it contains eight 80-kwgenerators and four 62-kwgenerators belt-driven by high-speed, compound, non-condensingeral years it has been operatedwhen the heaviest loads are carried. The East Boston power station supplies power for thelines in East Boston and Chelsea which use the tunnel underthe harbor. It contains three 200-kw generators direct-connected to horizontal, cross-compound, condensing en-gines. A new substation has been built on adjoining prop-.
