The blood-clots on the fractured edgesof the bones and any intervening fibroustissue wen1 displaced as much as possibleby rubbing the fragments together, whenthe suture was firmly tied, the ends cutshort, and the skin wound closed. Strongchromicized catgut may be employed in-stead. We agree with Stimson when he saysthat operative methods can be used withconfidence when surrounded with every pro-tect ion.
