Boiler Barrel.—The boiler barrel is to be cylindrical andbutt-jointed, and is to be made in all respects as shown ondrawings ; it is to be 11 ft. long between thj smoke-box tube-plate and the throat-plate of the fire-box shell. 4 ft. 4 in. out-side diameter, and composed of |-in. plates. The longitudinaljoints are to have inner and outer covering strips double rivet-ed, the rivets being placed zigzag.
