On 26th February 2015 container ship Maersk Munkebo became the largest ship of any kind to visit the Thames. Only 25 miles from the centre of London, London Gateway deep water port developed by Dubai World Ports is specifically designed to handle such large ships. It is expected that visits by this size of ship will increase in frequency over the next few years
